Where pets live

Codex App is the primary surface. The pet renders as a floating overlay on macOS and Windows, reflects Codex state, and stays visible across other apps.

The terminal runs the hatchery.pet CLI. The installer resolves the pet, writes it into the local Codex home, and leaves Codex App to render what was installed.

The IDE extension and Codex App both read the same Codex home, so a pet installed from the terminal is available everywhere Codex runs as long as those surfaces share the same home path.
